Announcing…
The Whole Megillah Young Adult Novel Contest
You may think it’s too early to prepare for Purim, but it’s not. Because when Purim comes around, The Whole Megillah will be judging 250 words of your YA novel–your own “Megillah”–for a special Purim prize: a signed copy of Queen of Secrets, Jenny Meyerhoff’s novel based on the Book of Esther. What could be more appropriate?
Here’s what to do:
- Send the first 250 words of your Jewish-themed YA novel to The Whole Megillah at barbarakrasner at yahoo dot com.
- Include The Whole Megillah on your blogroll if you have a blog
- Share the news about the contest on Facebook and Twitter
- Send proof of inclusion in your blogroll and your Facebook and Twitter messages to The Whole Megillah along with your submission
Deadline: March 14, 2011
Judge: Aileen Grossberg, Chair of the Sydney Taylor Manuscript Award Committee (FYI, your submission does not qualify for this award)
The winner will be announced on April 22.
We’re looking forward to your submissions!
What a great idea this is!

What a great idea! Are there other rules? Published story or unpublished? Work in progress or complete? Purim is one of my favorite holidays and the Queen of Secrets sounds like a great book.
Contest submissions should be for unpublished work only.
