Dear Readers of The Whole Megillah,
I promised the attendees of last month’s Highlights Foundation workshop, “Writing Jewish-themed Books for Children,” that I would give them monthly writing prompts. It then occurred to me to do the same for writers who come to The Whole Megillah.
Use these prompts in any way that comes to you. Write fiction, nonfiction, verse. The idea is to write.
Here’s the July prompt: Rabbi Hillel said, “If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am not for others, what am I? And if not now, when?”
Write whatever comes to you. Feel free to share!
Yay!!!
Thanks, Randi!
This is great. Thank you Barbara!
Glad you like it!
This is one of my favorite quotes and is essentially the theme of the book I wrote for young adults on the Holocaust called 3rd Generation and Beyond. Classic quote that always speaks volumes…
That’s awesome. Thanks for letting us know.
