Mazal Tov & Shana Tova! You are very talented!
Thanks, Joanie – so kind of you to say! L’shana tova!
Dear Barbara,
Your words speak to your love of family, ‘though history and horror never gave you an opportunity to meet these relatives in person. Your testimony gives voice to names and places, to whole communities sadly gone. Even after your extensive and emotional research, I imagine this was a difficult poem to conceive and write. Thank you for sharing.
Over several years, I worked on a cycle of poems about my grandparents. Thank G-d all came to the US before the Holocaust took them. I struggled most with the poem about my mother’s mother who passed away before I was born.
Steve
Thanks so much, Steve.
