Mid-Week Notes

Three quick things:

  1. Chag Sameach! A zisen Pesach! We may be conducting a Seder with family through Zoom or braving it alone, but hey, we as a people have been through worse.
  2. Are you keeping any kind of COVID-19 journal? Perhaps some stories, poetry, etc. will come out of that at some point.
  3. I’m working on revisions of two book manuscripts (both biographies, one lower grade and one YA) and still crafting my contemporary novel in verse, one poem at a time. What are you working on?

Oh, and I’m a grandma now! My granddaughter, Harper Lillian, was brought into the world a week ago. Everyone’s doing well.

Be well. Stay well. Be safe indoors.

  2. Mazal tov! Chag Sameach!
I’ve been revising picture books & essays & submitting them, poems, too.
The CT Office of the Arts awarded me a fellowship to support these projects. I also am translating Mireille Gansel, a French Holocaust poet’s work. Some acceptances for essays & poems.
    Time to write!

PS Barb, why when I try to post my website with its .org, wordpress says, “please enter a url?

    • Hi, Joanie,
I’d love to hear more about your translation work. I’ve got my eye on a Yiddish poet who hasn’t been translated yet into English that much.
I can’t say why WordPress does what it does.

  3. finally it worked, I hope

  4. Congratulations, Grandma Barbara! Being a grandmother is the best job in the world. I have been fully in the writing doldrums and trying to work my way out of it. This isolation has been very hard for me. I’m glad to see you doing so much and so well. Stay healthy!
