Mid-Week Notes

Three quick things:

  1. I’m now exploring Sol Stein’s craft book, Stein on Writing. It’s a good refresher.
  2. Though funds may disappear as a result of COVID-19-induced university cuts, I’ve signed up for several Amherst Writers & Artists generative writing sessions, including a local (through Zoom now) five-session cycle.
  3. I’m thinking of offering an online class, “The Year of the Novel.” We’ll explore elements of craft with exercises and workshopping to build a novel over the course of a year. Anyone interested in learning more about it? Comment below.

My granddaughter’s now a month old. The stories her parents will tell her!

Be well. Stay well. Be safe indoors.

I’m rereading Stein on Writing, too! I actually prefer his Growing Your Novel, but I’m doing revision, and I think he goes more into it in Stein on Writing.
