#52snapshots–Week 19

I continued to write about Esther Toby Drewno Entel and deepening my understanding of her life, including her father dying when she was in her teens and a younger brother dying in early 1914. I wonder whether her brother’s death gave her reason to leave her town for America.

My maternal grandparents, Avram Mendel Pryzant (aka Max Perlman) and Rose Entel, ca. 1918, New York City

I also started to write about my grandfather, Avram Mendel Pryzant, aka Max Perlman. He has an interesting immigration story: disowned by his father for not wanting to become a rabbi, working in an umbrella factory in Paris, his name change.

I did not make a list of objects inherited from family members.

This Week

This week is pretty much dedicated to grading final papers. But I may write about my grandmother, Avram Mendel’s wife.
