#52snapshots–Week 25

I’ve been focused on fiction this last week and trying to discern whether one of my “stories,” which weighs in currently at 13,000 words, is a short story, a novella, or a wannabe novel. At the same time, my Ethel Rosenberg bio in verse came back for final revisions.

But as we near the halfway mark for 2021, I see as I rifle through my notebooks, just how much nonfiction I’ve generated by using #52snapshots. I know I have a lot of revision to do to bring themes to the forefront, ensure transitions, and dramatize the narrative. That’s a project for July (along with seriously updating my Holocaustkidlit database).

This Week

My writing goals this week are the same as last week. I’ll be finishing up my Yiddish class, so I’ll have, I hope, more time. I do plan to visit a few Jewish cemeteries this summer and take photos of ancestor and landsleit gravestones.
