Mid-Week Field Notes–June 15, 2022

Field Notes

Some very quick things:

  1. One of the things I learned at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum faculty seminar in the last two weeks was how to read and analyze photographs. I used the methodology this past Sunday with my Writing Family History group. The writing was so incredibly deep and unique to the writer’s families. I’m thinking of offering a workshop on Writing with and from Photographs. Stay tuned!
  2. At the request of my doctors, I need to stay put and not really travel so I can give my body a chance to heal. I’ve had to cancel two presentation commitments. I wish things could have worked out otherwise.
  3. I will be offering a Jewish-specific workshop on Writing Family History. Please comment below if you are interested.
  4. Next week I’m in a virtual poetry workshop at Kenyon Review where I hope to write some awesome poems for my next novel in verse.

Have a good week!

  1. I might be interested in the Jewish family history writing and the photograph writing.
