Mid-Week Field Notes–July 20, 2022

Field Notes

Some very quick things:

  • Last chance to learn more about a family photograph by writing about it! “Writing from and about Photographs” takes place Wednesday, July 20, from 7-9 pm ET. See my website for details.
  • I’ve been keeping my head down to finish my novel in verse manuscript. Lesson learned: I have to give up handwriting my drafts. It’s just too labor-intensive to type everything up. Just when I identified all the poems I’d need to type from one notebook, I found a whole other notebook with at least 50 poems to type.
  • Received news late last week that I won a poetry prize. More to come on that when I’m at liberty to give the details.

Have a good week, everybody!

Mazel tov on winning the poetry prize. I had submitted a micro chapbook to the same contest, and received the announcement from Poetica. I was excited to see a familiar name, such a hard working poet, as the winner! Anxious to read.
