Mid-Week Field Notes–December 7, 2022

Field Notes

Some very quick things:

  • My poem, “Yiddish Is Not the Language of the Dead,” received a Pushcart Prize nomination for poetry. It was published this spring in Poetica. I’m up to three Pushcart nominations now, two for fiction and one for poetry.
  • I’m bummed about a form rejection of what I thought was my best poem from a top-tier literary journal. Sigh.
  • I completed a first draft of a full-length poetry collection and now await feedback from my poetry mentor. I’m sure there’s plenty of revision in my future.
  • New writing workshops for 2023 are open for registration from my website. These include Short Shrift: Writing the Short Story, Writing the Past, and Writing Family History.

Happy Writing!
